Prerequisites: Affiliate Marketing 101 Course (free!)

In this 7-part series, you’re going to learn how to make money on Facebook without hammering your friends with affiliate links and alienating everyone and their brother!

We’re going to show you how to find a solid affiliate product, get all set up on Facebook, and start getting traffic – which should turn into your first affiliate sale!

Sound fun?

Alright. Let’s get started.

Every lesson will have a ‘One Pager’ associated with it. It will walk you through the entire process, front to back.

The daily lessons will break each of the steps down into more details, with pictures and screenshots and everything else.

[heading style=”2″]Step 1: Pick Your Niche![/heading]

The most important part of the entire Facebook Formula process is picking your niche. Pick a good niche and there’s tons of money to be made on Facebook. Pick a bad niche, and you’ll be wasting your time.

Micro Niche Finder is a software tool that you can use to pick HOT niches across the board. We use them for Facebook and for our blogs so we know what we’re doing is right.

Click the video below. You’ll be asked for your name and email, but after that you can watch it for free.

[heading style=”2″]Manual Niche Selection[/heading]

If you choose not to use Micro Niche Finder, there is an alternative way to pick out your niche. It’s a little more complicated and not nearly as accurate, but it works.

The biggest drawback is you don’t know how many other people are searching for the niche, which is one of the biggest features of Micro Niche Finder. It pairs up different niches with how much traffic and how many people are interested in them…

Anyway, here’s how to drill down into a niche on both Clickbank and Amazon!

Step 1: Sign Up For Affiliate Networks

The top 3 affiliate networks to work with, especially when you’re new, is Clickbank, Commission Junction and Amazon. You can sign up to be an affiliate at each of these three networks by clicking the link below:

The one I most highly suggest you work with is Clickbank because commissions are often between 50% and 75% of the total purchase price, which means more money for you!

Let’s get started by going to Clickbank.

Step 1: Sign Up For Affiliate Networks

Step 2: Login In

After you sign up for Clickbank, you’ll have your login information delivered to your email. If you already have an account, you can just log right in. The only way to drill down through the products anymore is if you’re logged in. It’s not the best, I know… But that’s how it goes.

Hit the ‘Login’ button on the upper right.

Step 2: Login In

Step 3: Sign In

Go ahead and sign into your account with your username and password.

Step 3: Sign In

Step 4: Marketplace

Now that you’re logged in, let’s head to the Marketplace to find affiliate products to promote!

Step 4: Marketplace

Step 5: Categories

Start browsing the categories on the left hand side of the page. What are you interested in? What do you like doing? What can you see yourself working on for some period of time?

The point is to find something you like or want to learn more about, and then publish what you find on your website or on Facebook!

Now, head to the next step.

Step 5: Categories

Step 6: Green Products

The category we’re going to drill down on a little is ‘Green Products.’ I’ve been more interested in solar lately, and I think a lot of other people are too.

In the next step, I’ll show you how to tell how popular the product is!

Step 6: Green Products

Step 7: Alternative Energy

In this example, we picked the Alternative Energy category.

As you can see, these products are arranged by popularity, low to high, by default. You can see that in the first red box.

In the orange box, you can see the stats for the product. The most important one, besides the Avg $/sale, is the Gravity (Grav).

The higher the gravity, the more affiliates are successfully selling the product! For people like you and me, that means that the sales copy is working, and other people are selling the product just fine!

NOTE: If you’re planning on doing SEO promotions with your website or blog, you want to make sure that the Gravity for the product you’re trying to promote is between 20 and 100.

Now that you know how to find niche products on Clickbank, let’s move to Amazon in the next step.

Step 7: Alternative Energy

Step 8: Amazon Best Seller Lists

The next place I like to go, if I want to promote physical products, is the Amazon Best Seller Lists.

There, you can drill down through all of the different major categories to find something you can promote. Of course, you have to be signed up as an Amazon Affiliate first though!

Let’s have a look in the Sports section…

Step 8: Amazon Best Seller Lists

Step 9: Best Sellers In Sports

In sports, there’s golf. That’s where we’re going to get started looking for products.

The rule of thumb is to go after products that are between $100 and $300 retail. Even with a 5% or 7% commission, that still means you’re earning $10 or $15 per sale.

So, let’s click on ‘Golf.’

Step 9: Best Sellers In Sports

Step 10: Drilling Down Golf

Let’s keep drilling down in the Golf section. We’re looking for something above $100…

Step 10: Drilling Down Golf

Step 11: Golf Clubs

There we go! Golf clubs, most of which are above $100.

If you wanted to promote the Golf niche, these clubs would be perfect to add into the mix!

Step 11: Golf Clubs

Tomorrow, we’re going to cover how to get your affiliate link so that you can start using it on Facebook!

Make sure you check out the lesson.  Your link is responsible for tracking your commissions.  No link (or the wrong link), no commissions!
